Plug wall power source into a 110/120vac wall outlet. Plug the 2.1mm plug into the CA4-6 SGC. Only use supplied power source! Place the battery to be charged into the charging pocket with the contacts of the battery facing the contacts of the charger. The LED will illuminate GREEN for a moment. If the battery voltage is too low, the LED will blink RED then GREEN for two to three minutes, until the charger brings the battery to the correct voltage level. It will then turn RED to indicate that the charger is in the rapid charge state. The LED will turn GREEN when the battery is ready for use and is in the trickle charge state. At this point the battery might be warm, this is normal. This process should take approximately ½ hour to 3 hours to charge the battery. 

After the battery has been fully charged and removed from the charger, wait 15 seconds before charging another set of batteries. If the battery is NiCd or NIMH and new, it may be necessary to charge and use it two or three times before full capacity is realized. 

Tech Tip:

Do not use "CA" base unit for charging of battery once SGC is placed into service.
